Opening and connections need confirmation — For planning enquiries only until confirmed. Do not set off on your own following an old guide.
About this route
If you want to climb under your own power, start by learning about Wolong Ridge. The route from the valley to Tianzi Mountain is a sustained stair climb, not a short sightseeing stroll. Views gradually open through the mountain forest, but full-route access and return connections still need confirmation. Until then, this is for planning enquiries only.
Suggested sequence
- Before setting off, confirm that all of Wolong Ridge is open, along with weather, official signs and local accompaniment.
- Climb the stairs according to the confirmed plan and agree in advance where to turn back if you tire.
- Before climbing, confirm summit connections and the last cableway service. Do not rely on an unconfirmed extra service for your return.
Transport and safety
Rain, snow, ice and slippery surfaces can change feasibility. Current full-route access and services have not been confirmed. Do not attempt the route on your own using an old map; a fixed arrival time is not promised.
Use only designated trails open that day. Timings are planning suggestions; actual duration depends on fitness, weather, queues and connections. Unsurveyed distances and elevation gain are not guaranteed.
Cost information
This page provides route-planning information only. Admission, cableways, elevators, sightseeing trains, activities, meals, hotels, transfers, guides and insurance are not included. If you need services, confirm each price, inclusion and cancellation/change condition.
Frequently asked questions
Can I book these routes directly?
Guided hikes are not yet open for booking. You can ask about walking arrangements; an actual booking proposal requires written confirmation of services, total price and conditions.
Can I walk just part of a route?
Some valley and viewpoint walks can be shortened, but confirm turnaround points, exits and transport. Do not assume one-way canyon or climbing routes allow you to retrace your steps at any time.
Do photos and travel guides prove a trail is open?
No. Check official notices, weather and on-site restrictions on the day. Demanding Yangjiajie branches and Wolong Ridge need section-by-section confirmation; do not use old maps to enter closed areas.
