About this route

Give the summit and valley their own days. Explore Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain on day one, then start from the South Gate on day two for a cableway-assisted Huangshi Village loop and a stretch of Golden Whip Stream. This flexible walking plan suits visitors able to stay active for two consecutive days. It is not a two-day package including arrival, departure, hotels or transfers.

Suggested sequence

On day one, link Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain using park transport and keep viewpoint detours manageable.
Arrange transport to the South Gate separately on day two and choose your Huangshi Village loop according to fitness.
Choose a stretch of Golden Whip Stream to fit the remaining time; do not sacrifice return time or rest to finish the whole trail.

Transport and safety

Consider Wulingyuan as a base, but separately confirm transport outside the park to the South Gate on day two. Forest Park ticket types, validity and re-entry conditions depend on your actual reservation. Hotels, guides and vehicles are not automatically included.

Use only designated trails open that day. Timings are planning suggestions; actual duration depends on fitness, weather, queues and connections. Unsurveyed distances and elevation gain are not guaranteed.

Can I book these routes directly?

Guided hikes are not yet open for booking. You can ask about walking arrangements; an actual booking proposal requires written confirmation of services, total price and conditions.

Can I walk just part of a route?

Some valley and viewpoint walks can be shortened, but confirm turnaround points, exits and transport. Do not assume one-way canyon or climbing routes allow you to retrace your steps at any time.

Do photos and travel guides prove a trail is open?

No. Check official notices, weather and on-site restrictions on the day. Demanding Yangjiajie branches and Wolong Ridge need section-by-section confirmation; do not use old maps to enter closed areas.
